Nathan Bowen is a dynamic street artist primarily based in London, where he operates as a creative force for change. He takes on the role of an “art vigilante,” targeting uninspiring urban areas and transforming them into vibrant displays of creativity. With a self-proclaimed title of “art gangster,” he unleashes his imagination to breathe life into forgotten spaces, resulting in striking artworks that captivate passersby. His artistic approach is characterized by speed, energy, and an element of surprise.

Bowen’s signature creations, known as ‘The Demons,’ have become a familiar sight on construction signs throughout the city, turning the streets into his personal exhibition space. His influences are diverse, drawing inspiration from everyday people, anonymous laborers, and a host of cultural icons, including Elizabeth II, Boris Johnson, Marilyn Monroe, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol, Jay-Z, Amy Winehouse, David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, James Brown, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Elvis Presley, and many more.

During the lockdowns of the COVID-19 pandemic, Nathan was exceptionally active, making his mark on the city as one of the few artists to brighten its streets with his work, particularly on construction site barriers. His triangular characters have become a recognizable symbol among Londoners, with one notable piece in Clapham serving as a reminder to limit outdoor activities.

In addition to his solo endeavours, Bowen collaborates with fellow artists like Slayzy, 26 Demons, and Blackmore, creating a vibrant artistic community. He also explores more traditional mediums, producing works on canvas, metro maps, and even repurposing old artworks to give them a fresh perspective.
