Endless’ Chapel Skull Perfume Bottle cleverly critiques modern consumer culture by presenting Chanel—a brand synonymous with luxury—as a form of contemporary religion. In this piece, the skull, a traditional symbol of mortality, representing how we elevate brands to a near-sacred status. Endless uses the skull to signify our inevitable death.

The perfume bottle, styled after Chanel, is central to this commentary. It represents not just beauty and luxury, but the idea that brands like Chanel have become objects of worship in modern society. The name Chapel is a play on Chanel, drawing parallels between religious devotion and brand loyalty, implying that these iconic symbols of fashion have replaced traditional religious icons.

Endless suggests that we worship these brands until death. We devote ourselves to them as if they offer salvation, embodying a new kind of spirituality where materialism and consumption fill the role that religion once did. The artwork calls attention to how deeply ingrained this worship of brands has become, blurring the lines between faith and consumerism in a way that feels both provocative and insightful.
