In celebration of an American legend, today we honour Muhammad Ali on what would have been his 77th birthday. For this edition print, Ali is embraced by the American Flag in the boxing ring, embodying his undeniable legacy of passion and power. Equally known for his fame in boxing as well as his civil rights activism, Muhammad Ali is a true American Hero.

Thierry Guetta, creating under the pseudonym of Mr Brainwash, is a street artist and videographer most notable for his mischievous appropriation of copyrighted images, often sourced from popular culture and art history

Mr Brainwash has received merit for his work alongside various music artists; he most notably collaborated with Michael Jackson on the artwork for his Xscape album and has also created artwork for Madonna and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. As a means of validating his own work as authentic, Mr Brainwash signs off with his thumb print, hand-signature, an assigned dollar bill number sequence and his ‘Life Is Beautiful’ mantra.

About Mr Brainwash

Mr. Brainwash, the alter-ego of Thierry Guetta a favourite of Indelible Fine Art, is a French-born street artist. Known for his use of images from history, popular culture, and art history he believes that artwork is a medium to promote positivity, freedom, and love. Pushing the boundaries of contemporary art, he claims ‘Art has no rules. There’s no manual’. He is known for creating mass spectacles to promote and display his art, including his first exhibition ‘Life is Beautiful’ which attracted over 50,000 visitors. His rise to fame was documented in the Banksy-directed film Exit Through the Gift Shop. At one time it was speculated that perhaps this “crazy” French amateur videographer, Thierry Guetta, was in-fact the real identification of Banksy due to his ties to the elusive street artist. However, throughout the last decade after selling millions of pounds worth of artwork and having his artwork exhibited worldwide in front of his Global fan base, Mr Brainwash has evidently become a bona fide Artist. Some of his most high-profiled fans consist of the Obamas, the Kardashians, the Pope and our very own Joseph Lewis.
